My client, based in a semi-rural setting (free parking) within easy commuting distance of Winchester, Andover and Basingstoke are recruiting for a Purchaser to join this SME who trade internationally.
As Purchaser, you will be responsible for the planning and managing of the stock base for the company, including offices based overseas. You will be considering the current stock, demand forecasts and stock holding strategy in addition to liaising with the sales team and suppliers to forecast and plan the relevant stock levels.
This is a multifaceted role, which involves liaising with a variety of different people, both internally and externally and based all over the world. You will have excellent communication skills to develop and build strong working relationships. This role requires strong attention to detail as there is extensive planning and following up to ensure that the stock levels are accurate.
You will either have purchasing or sales experience or you have developed purchasing skills as part of an autonomous and varied role. The position requires a methodical mind-set and the ability to analyse reports and statistics, which will support your purchasing decisions on behalf of the company. You will be resilient and proactive in your approach to ensure that the stock levels are accurate across the business.
Whilst not essential for the role, a number of the suppliers are German and knowledge of the language would be useful.
You will need your own transport due to the rural location. The salary range advertised is broad to reflect that my client can accommodate an experienced individual or someone with less experience.
