AI and Innovation Manager 

The AI and Innovation Manager role will be key in formulating and integrating an artificial intelligence roadmap across all business operations.

A strategic role which will work closely with the knowledge, technology and project teams to identify, design, and deploy AI solutions that streamline legal operations and elevate client value.

The position bridges strategic vision with practical implementation. You will be driving workflow integration, delivering clear guidance and targeted training as well as assessing results.  

Although AI tools are already in use within certain areas of the business, they are now seeking a commercially minded AI specialist and dedicated leader to drive initiatives forward. 

The AI and Innovation Manager responsibilities will include: 

  • Being an AI  leader and supporting the firm’s delivery of AI and innovation in alignment with business priorities 
  • Identifying and progressing AI tools 
  • Pinpointing and driving the adoption of legal technology and AI solutions that increase the firm’s efficiency and enhance client service. 
  • Identifying, evaluating and implementing new tools and platforms
  • Owning projects end-to-end: shaping the vision, executing the strategy, driving user adoption and measuring for ongoing improvements.
  • Driving adoption through training, communication and engagement.
  • Developing guidance and best practice for responsible AI use.
  • Translating business needs into practical solutions with legal, knowledge and technology teams.
  • Tracking market trends and identifying new AI opportunities.

For this new and exciting role, my client are looking for the following skills, experience and attributes:  

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience of using AI (including generative) tools in a commercial environment
  • Ability to translate technical capability into business outcomes
  • Confident communicator who is able to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience within a legal or professional services environment 
  • Strong understanding of legal workflows 
  • Project management experience 
  • Comfortable using data and metrics to track performance and inform decisions
  • Demonstrate a resilient and proactive mindset
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible training materials and deliver training across multiple business functions
